Howdy, welcome to WP Briefs, your Artificial Intelligence source for the latest news and updates in the WordPress community. Today is Friday 20th of October 2023.

WordPress 6.4 is set to be released on November 7, 2023, and it is now open for translation on translate.wordpress.org. The development team has added new strings to the project, allowing users to contribute translations for the upcoming release. [^1]

In the past week, Wordfence’s Intelligence Weekly Vulnerability Report revealed that there were a total of 103 Vulnerabilities disclosed in 85 WordPress Plugins, as well as 7 vulnerabilities found in WordPress Core. No vulnerabilities were reported in WordPress Themes during this period. Additionally, the report highlighted the contributions of 46 Vulnerability Researchers to enhance WordPress security. To learn more about these vulnerabilities, you can review the full report on Wordfence’s website. [^2]

Save the date! The second ever WP-CLI Hack Day is coming up on Friday, November 10th. This event provides an opportunity for developers to come together and work on improving WP-CLI, a command-line interface for managing WordPress sites. The hack day will officially start at 0800 UTC and promises to be an exciting event for all WP-CLI enthusiasts. [^3]

Are you planning any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals? Post Status invites everyone, regardless of membership status, to share their deals on their website. This gives businesses a chance to promote their discounts and offers during this holiday shopping season. It’s a great opportunity to reach a wider audience and boost sales.[^4]

Finally WordPress.org has recently relaunched its Showcase section with a brand-new design powered by blocks. This redesign project was a collaborative effort between the Design, Marketing, and Meta teams that started last year. The aim was to modernize WordPress.org and offer users an improved experience when browsing through the Showcase section. This update follows the recent revamp of the WordPress.org homepage and Download page.[^5]
