WordPress TV releases new videos on block themes & coding standards, plus exciting features coming to WordPress 6.2
Hello and welcome to WP Briefs for Monday 5th June 2023. Here are some of the latest news stories from the world of WordPress.
First up, we have a new video from WordPress TV on how to switch from a classic to a block theme. The video provides step-by-step instructions on how to make the transition, including tips on choosing a suitable block theme and customizing it to suit your needs.
Moving on, we have news about using block inspector sidebar groups in WordPress 6.2. This feature gives block developers greater control over where custom controls should appear by leveraging the group of the InspectorControls component. It’s an exciting development for those working with blocks in their projects.
In our third story, there’s another new video from WordPress TV, this time on WordPress Coding Standards. The workshop covers everything you need to know about these standards, including where to find information about them and how to automate the process of formatting your code to meet them.
Next up is news about WordCamp Europe (WCEU) 2023, which takes place in Athens, Greece from 8–10th June. To help attendees navigate all the conversations and terminology at this prominent WordPress gathering, there’s a useful glossary of more than thirty terms you should know when attending.
Finally, we have an interesting personal account from Dan Norris who wrote twenty articles in one day with the help of free AI tools for their new business WP Master. They planned out four blocks of two hours each and aimed to write five articles during each block. If you’re curious about their results, check out their blog post which we’ve linked in our show notes.
That’s all from us today on WP Briefs for Monday 5th June 2023. Thanks for listening!
