Hello and welcome to WP Briefs for Monday 12th June, 2023. Today we’ll be discussing a variety of WordPress news stories from the past week.

First up, at this year’s WordCamp Europe keynote address in Athens, Greece, WordPress co-founder Matt Mullenweg, Gutenberg Architect Matías Venture, and Executive Director Josepha Haden Chomphosy reflected on WordPress in 2023 and aspirations for the coming year.

Next, inspiring the global community at WordCamp Europe 2023 in Athens, Greece was the celebration of WordPress’ 20th anniversary. More than 2,500 individuals from 94 countries came together either in person or through the live stream to participate in a remarkable three-day event.

In a blog post by WebDevStudio’s CEO Brad Williams titled ‘Best Practices for Building an Enterprise WordPress Website’, he discusses what you need to know before building your enterprise WordPress experience.

An update on WordCamp US tickets was also released recently. WCUS charges $50 for a regular ticket; however, the real cost per person is $750. Therefore every additional ticket sold beyond the first 1,750 adds $700 to their budget. To stay within their budget they need to carefully manage any additional ticket releases. The sponsors team are hard at work to increase the amount of tickets available.

According to recent data analytics reports demand for WordPress is up by approximately 11.3% over the last twelve months while demand for WooCommerce is up by approximately one percent over the same period.

Lastly today we take a closer look at The WordPress Polyglots Team: Who They Are and What They Do. This team helps with translation efforts all around the world making them indispensable to the global success of WordPress.

And that’s all for today’s WP Briefs covering some exciting updates from WordCamp Europe along with other interesting news from around the world of WordPress.
